Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is a plan of the Government of India whereby poor people living in cities will be provided with housing to suit their purchasing power. The government has identified 305 cities and towns in 6 states in which these houses will be built.

Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Grameen Yojana is a rural management plan of the central government. The plan was launched on June 25, 2015. The plan aims to provide housing for all by 2022. The government has divided the scheme into 3 phases:

The second phase has started from April 2017 and will be completed in March 2019, in which the government aims to build houses in more than 200 cities.

The third phase will start in April 2019 and end in March 2022, in which the remaining objective will be met.

The amount received under this scheme and the amount of the grant will come in the bank account of the direct candidate that will be linked to the Aadhaar card so that he can obtain all the benefits of it.

The scheme has also been linked to other schemes to deal with the entire facility, such as toilet, drinking water, electricity, cleaning, smokeless cooking fuel, social and liquid waste.
